Basics
What is a Stage remap?
“Stage” describes the level of your performance upgrade. A Stage 1 remap is a pure software optimisation on the standard hardware. Stage 2 builds on it and uses additional hardware to unlock more potential. Both stages are tuned individually to the engine, gearbox and condition of your vehicle.
Stage 1 remap – the software optimisation
With a Stage 1 ECU remap we optimise the engine control unit without changing any hardware. Maps for injection, boost pressure and ignition are adjusted precisely. The result: more power and torque, noticeably sharper throttle response and – depending on your driving style – sometimes even lower fuel consumption.
- Ideal for turbocharged petrol engines (TFSI/TSI) and turbo diesels
- No hardware changes needed – also possible from home with the OBD customer flasher (German page)
- Best value for money as an entry point

Stage 2 remap – software plus hardware
Stage 2 is the next step for everyone who wants more. The software is matched to additionally installed hardware – for example a downpipe, sports catalytic converter, intake or a larger intercooler. This lets the engine move more air, and the remap unlocks considerably more than Stage 1.
